DMA IN PIANO PEDAGOGY

Prerequisite: Master of Music degree in piano performance
or piano pedagogy or the equivalent 32 credits

Doctoral studies 48 credits
Recital/Treatise Track

Major Area to include the following:  
Area Studies: 9 credits of piano pedagogy, including MUSC 773-774,
and 3-6 credits of piano literature or pedagog

Applied Piano (Music 811P)

Dissertation Requirement

12 credits

a. Recital Preperation (MUSC 891) (4 credits)

 

b. 2 Recitals (from MUSC 892, 894, 895, 896)

c. Treatise (MUSC 898) (6 credits)

 

MUSC 747 Advanced Research 2 credits
Cognate Studies (18 credits of approved studies in music that include at least 6 credits music history [minimum of
two 700-level courses]
and at least 9 credits music theory.)
