MASTER OF MUSIC IN MUSIC HISTORY

Prerequisite: Bachelor's degree in music (or the equivalent), including keyboard skills
MUSC 707 Music Bibliography and Research 2 credits
Major Area 15 credits

a) Music history courses (12 credits)

b) Thesis (3 credits)

Music 747 Advanced Music Research 2 credits
Music Theory (one 700-level analytical course required) 6 credits
Music Electives 4 credits
Nonmusic Elective 3 credits
Total 32 credits
Foreign-language requirement (to be satisfied before enrollment in thesis credit): Reading proficiency in German. Substitution of another language must be approved in writing by both the student's major professor and the Music Graduate Director.

MASTER OF MUSIC IN MUSIC THEORY

Prerequisite: Bachelor's degree in music (or the equivalent), including keyboard skills

b.) Music theory or composition (3 credits from MUSC 724, MUSC 725, or composition)
