minor in Music has prerequisites of three (3) credits and ten
(10) credits of core requirements, and eight (8) credits chosen
from music electives.

Director of Undergradaute Studeis and petition, another music history
or music literature course. Current alternative choice is MUSC

maximum of four (4) additional credits
Applied: (private lessons): maximum of eight (8)
credits. A student may receive credit for two semesters of
study at the 101 level, but must progress to MUSC 111 or 211
for more than
two (2) credits to be counted toward the minor. A qualifying
audition is required to enroll in applied music.
Theory or History: All courses at 200 level or
above.
Music Education: any MUED course
Consultation
with the Undergraduate Director in the School of Music is required.
The
following courses may be used to satisfy the cognate
requirements of undergraduate degrees offered by other
schools and colleges on the USC-Columbia campus: to
be counted toward the minor.
