The Community Music Program is now offering Suzuki String Instruction for children age 3 and up in violin and cello through group classes and private lessons.  Enrollment in the group lessons is limited to students who are also receiving private Suzuki instruction.  Private Suzuki instruction may be from an outside source or students can register for private Suzuki lessons from the USC Community Music Program.  To get more information on registering for private Suzuki instruction, please visit (www.music.sc/edu/AlumCommVis/prep.html) or call (803) 777-4280.  For more information on the Suzuki group classes, please contact Constance Gee at cgee@mozart.sc.edu.       

Instrumental Readiness

New this semester: Instrumental Readiness  - for children 3-5 years old
This course is recommended for the New Beginner as additional preparation for the Pre-Twinkle level of Suzuki instrumental study.  Children who register for this program will participate in the Children’s Music Development Center program, held on Saturdays, from January 16th -March 29th.  See the Children’s Music Development Center website (www.music.sc.edu/Special_Programs/CMDC/index.html) or call (803) 777-4280 for further information and to register for this program.

The Suzuki Strings Program will offer two sessions for the Spring semester.  All classes will be held at the USC School of Music (813 Assembly Street).

Session I: January 26th – March 29th
(Jan. 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23, March 1, 8, 22, 29)
Violin: Twinkle: 10:30 am – 11:15 am
Violin: Book 1B and up: 11:30 am – 12:15 pm
All Violin classes will be held in Room 106 in the School of Music.

Session II: April 5th - May 24th
(April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24)
Pre-Twinkle: 10:30 am – 11:15 am
