The Goals of the Carolina Institute for Music Leadership and Engagement are:

• To provide South Carolina Students and alumni with the knowledge, skills and diverse educational experiences to become adaptive leaders in music who can effectively influence and react to changes in contemporary culture.

• To instill in participants the desire to pursue, influence, act decisively and engage in the evolving state of music to sustain and grow dynamic communities.

• To integrate and make relevant the broad aspects of leadership education, entrepreneurship training, music advocacy and career development in the context of music training.

• To provide a pre-professional platform for School of Music students as they become vital part of the midlands music community, the state of South Carolina and the nation.
