String Students and Faculty Collaborate in Fundraiser
The Strings in Silhouette concert, featuring performances by students and faculty, includes a violin sonata and string quartet of Beethoven, solo Bach played on bass, cello, and violin, some Appalachian fiddlin' by Kristen Harris. In addition, you can hear some jazz by Craig Butterfield and Bert Ligon, and a little tango by the faculty string quartet. There will also be a silent auction beforehand with many enticing items offered for sale. This concert is a fundraiser for our USC ASTA Student Chapter, and will help offset the costs of the students' attendance at this year's American String Teachers Association National Conference in Atlanta in March. Come and hear some wonderful string music of all styles, and support our hard-working music students attend the largest and most important string conference in the country.
