South Carolina Double Reed Day

Join us Saturday, November 12, 2011 for the South Carolina Double Reed Day at the University of South Carolina School of Music. Clinicians Rebecca S. Nagel, oboe, and Peter Kolkay, bassoon, will host a day of activities for double reed players of all ages and levels.
Activities include a recital by Profs. Kolkay and Nagel, master classes, reed classes, and a double reed ensemble performance by participants. Double reed repair specialist Bruce McCall will be available for free instrument adjustments, minor repairs, and major repair consultation. Bruce will also give sessions on oboe and bassoon instrument maintenance. Several music vendors will have items and music for sale. A special feature this year will be a screening of Matt Dine's 30 minute film "Delmar, " about Charlotte oboe celebrity Delmar Williams.
Registration begins at 8:30 and activities start at 9:30. The registration fee of $30 covers all activities. For a complete schedule and online registration form, click on the links below. Walk up registration will also be available on November 12.
