Eligibility: Eligible applicants must be between ages 13 and 18 as of June 17, 2012 and may not have yet matriculated in a degree program at a college or university. Proof of age, such as birth certificate, ID card, or driver's license must accompany the application.

Audition recording: All applicants must submit an unedited CD (no DVDs are accepted) containing two or three works, or movements of larger works, contrasting in styles and periods (concerto movements are allowed).

Application: A completed application, proof of applicant's age, non-refundable $40 application fee, and audio recording must be postmarked by Friday, March 30, 2012. Late applications will be accepted if enrollment permits. The application fee increases to $60 for all late applications.

Please make all checks or money orders made payable to Southeastern Piano Festival.

Notification: Applicants will be notified of their status as soon as possible. Upon acceptance, the participants will receive a letter of invitation to be signed and returned by May 5, 2012. All fees must be paid in full by that date.

Repertoire Requirements: Students are encouraged to bring solo piano works to the festival ready to perform in lessons and masterclasses in addition to their repertoire for the competition.

Housing: Room and board are provided for all participants and auditors on the picturesque USC campus within walking distance of the School of Music, a state-of-the-art music facility with a beautiful and intimate recital hall and excellent practice rooms. All participants are required to live on campus where they reside under the professional care of the University staff.

New: Beginning in 2012, students will have the option to study for an additional week at the Carolina Summer Music Conservatory immediately following the Southeastern Piano Festival. The Summer Music Conservatory provides solo instruction, chamber music instruction, ample practice time and performance opportunities for all participants in an encouraging and collaborative setting. Please indicate on your Southeastern Piano Festival application if you are interested in participating in this program. Your recording will serve as an audition recording for this program.
