Are you interested in learning how to play the guitar? Here is your chance! 

 

Beginner’s guitar class I is a ten week course designed for the beginner guitar student looking to learn the basics of music notation, chords, picking, and strumming technique.

 

Beginner’s guitar class II is a ten week course continuation of Beginner’s Guitar Class I. If you have already had some basic experience in playing or you had already taken a Beginner’s guitar class I, you can start with this group immediately after consulting with the instructor.

Both classes meet on Tuesdays.

 

When?        Guitar Class I:  September 13 - November 15 2011@ 5:30-6:30

                    Guitar Class II: September 13 - November 15 @ 6:40-7:40

Where?       USC School of Music Building, room 106

About the instructor:

Alma Sehic was born in Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After receiving her High School Diplomas in Guitar Performance and Theory Studies, her career led her to the United States. She earned her undergraduate degree in Guitar Performance studying with Dr. Miroslav Loncar at William Carey College. Alma graduated with very high honors; she received awards for “Outstanding Musical Performance” and “Artistic Achievement Award”. She continued her education at Appalachian State University and received Masters Degree in Performance under the instruction of Dr. Douglas James. Currently, she is a teaching assistant of Christopher Berg at University of South Carolina where she is pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Performance.  Alma’s love and enthusiasm for teaching has led her to teach many private students as well as group guitar courses. Many of her students have fallen in love with music and continued their studies and growth as performers and artists.
