[Jazz] ImprovisationThe Beginners Guitar Course | Music Theory [Jazz] Improvisation Click Here for an Application Form Students of language learn to read, to write and speak. Students of language are expected to create their own sentences and paragraphs using the lan-guage. These classes offer music student the op-portunity to develop their own voice with their study of the musical language. Students will do exercises to strengthen the com-munication between what the ears can hear and the hands can play - develop better "hand to ear" co-ordination. We will examine the basic structures and elements and play from memory pieces we know, beginning with Twinkle, in addition to other pieces from the Suzuki books, other folk, patriotic and holiday melodies. Students will learn to per-sonalize versions of these melodies. Students will study the devices found in these common melodies (scales and arpeggios, neighbor tones, and more) and learn how to use them to improvise their own melodies. Students will be given guidelines for creating melodies, have opportunities to play them with and for their peers. Students will also have the opportunity to play ensemble music offering the opportunity to apply the skills of musical improvis-ing. There will be 10 classes...
