Private Lesson Information:
Our private lesson program offers 12 lessons per semester, taught by USC students and community professionals. All lessons will be held at the USC School of Music and lesson times will be arranged on an individual basis between student and teacher. You may choose ½ hour or full hour lessons. Once your application and fees have been received, you will be contacted by your teacher to arrange a lesson time.
Teacher assignments cannot be guaranteed, but every effort will be made to honor requests. In most cases students will continue with the same teacher throughout their study in the CMS.
Progress Reports
In an effort to keep parents and students informed of successes, progress, and areas that may need improvement, CMS parents and/or students will receive end-of-semester reports detailing progress and recommendations from their teachers.
Recitals
The CMS sponsors end-of-semester recitals twice a year. Students have the opportunity to prepare and perform on these recitals as a celebration of their accomplishments during the year. Students will perform at the discretion of their assigned CMS teacher.
Concerts/Music Events in the Community
The USC School of Music, Koger Center for the Arts, Columbia Museum of Fine Art, Carolina Center, Columbia College, Trinity Cathedral and local churches all sponsor music events of varied kinds. While many events are free of admission charge, you should call for schedules and ticket information. Part of a musical education involves hearing and seeing live music and parents and students are encouraged to attend concerts. USC School of Music 803.777.4280

Parking
Metered parking is available near the School of Music. There are however special events in these lots quite often when parking is only available to permit holders or for payment. At these times only street/metered parking is available.
