JAZZ
STUDIES at USC combines jazz performance,
composition and arranging into a program designed to expand your ability
to express yourself musically. We emphasize the practical skills which
will enable you to appreciate and play the wide variety of music demanded
of professional musicians today.
Our goal is not just to help you
master your primary instrument. We want you to be able to use new
and improved skills to hear and bring out the music inside you.
After all, that's what jazz is all about. So we help you become
solid in the fundamentals skills of ear-training, keyboard technique,
music theory, and arranging.
We can help you develop the musical
self confidence and proficiency needed to become a working musician
in the jazz and commercial music industry as a live or studio performer,
or as a professional composer or arranger.
Our new multi-million dollar music
building gives us one of the most up-to-date and sophisticated music
teaching facilities in the country.
From the acoustic design of the
practice rooms and rehearsal and recital halls, to an all-new computer
music support facility, the new building is a first rate place to
learn and perform.
If you
love jazz, or just want to experience something new, exciting and
challenging, call us and come see for yourself what Jazz Studies
at USC is all about.
