BRYSON BORGSTEDT joined the USC jazz program in the Fall of 2004 as an adjunct instructor. Performing for over 35 years and teaching for 30 plus years, his experience provides a considerable resource for students of jazz. He teaches jazz improvisation at USC.

He taught at Nyack College (Nyack, NY) and has maintained a private studio for over 30 years. Borgstedt plays saxophone, flute and clarinet and received his Bachelor of Music Degree in multiple woodwinds and Master of Music Degree in jazz and commercial music from the University of South Carolina.

Bryson Borgstedt has performed with Emil Richards, John Riley, Drew Gress, Manny Albam, John Pizzarelli, Steve Houghton, James Williams, Andy Fusco, Marc Copland, Phil Marcowitz, Clare Fischer, Steve Gilmore, James Carter, Roswell Rudd, Byron Stripling, James Commack, Vincent Herring, Chris Valdala, Jeff Jarvis, Bill Crow, Nancy Wilson, Kevin Mahogany, Lynn Seaton, Tony Kadleck, Ed Xiques, Pete Yellin, Jim Walker, James Chirillo, Scott Whitfield, Dennis Mackrel, Joe Alessi, Wycliff Gordon, Ron Westray, Bob Hope, Bob Newhart, Red Skelton, Milton Berle, The Temptations, The Spinners and others. He performed big band music with the United States Military Academy Band Jazz Knights (West Point, NY) for 20 years.
