HISTORICAL KEYBOARD INSTRUMENTS AT THE
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA


The University of South Carolina possesses an outstanding collection of period keyboard instruments. Students have access to copies of a portative organ, and an English Virginal, as well as Italian, German, and French style Harpsichords. The collection also includes copies of a Mozart-era piano, and a Schubert-era piano. Private faculty collections include harpsichords, clavichords, and an 1862 Erard grand piano
