Annual Reading Session Opportunity
Established in 2000, this annual opportunity
features professional and student ensembles who offer composers feedback
in the presence of the entire composition faculty. Submissions are
carefully screened by members of the composition and performance faculty.
Students have a full term to work on their composition under the guidance
of their private composition teacher.

Readings of Works for Large Forces
Students regularly have the opportuntity
to have their works for large forces read by USC ensembles. Orchestra
readings are a regular part of our curriculum. End of semester reading
sessions occur in MUSC 515 Orchestration and MUSC 717 Advanced
Orchestration. The composition faculty also helps students arrange
readings of works for wind ensemble, concert band, chamber orchestra,
chorus, and so forth as the need arises.
