On Fridays, USC composers gather
together in Music Building, R210 from 2:30 to 4:00
pm for Composition Seminar. Composition Seminar features presentations on a wide variety of composition-related topics by invited guest composers, the composition faculty, and student composers.
In addition to reading sessions, group composition lessons, and open discussion
forums on current topics, students profit from frequent visits by conductors, musicologists, performers, and theorists.
Our program attempts ot embrace the inherently interdisciplinary and collaborative nature of our
field. As such, we regularly invite directors, film makers, media
artists, painters, philosophers, poets, scene designers and scientists alike,
to speak about the nature of creativity in their field.
