On Fridays, USC composers gather
together from 2:30 to 4:00
pm in Music Building, R210 for Composition Seminar. Composition Seminar features presentations on a wide variety of composition-related topics by invited guest composers, the composition faculty, and student composers.
In addition to reading sessions, group composition lessons, and open discussions on current topics, this forum features regular visits by conductors, musicologists, performers, and theorists.
Our program embraces the inherently interdisciplinary and collaborative nature of our
profession. As such, we also regularly invite filmmakers, media
artists, painters, philosophers, poets, scene designers, and scientists to speak about the nature of creativity in their field.
