The Southern Exposure New Music Series, now in its fifth season under the direction of John Fitz Rogers, regularly performs a variety of recent music as well as classic compositions from the past century. Students, faculty, and professional ensembles have all participated in what has become one of the hallmarks of our program.

Composers at USC profit from frequent visits and residencies associated with this concert series. Recent guests have included composers Claude Baker, Martin Bresnick, Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez, Pierre Jalbert, and Scott Lindroth, and guest performers Alarm Will Sound, Philip Bush, Ciompi String Quartet, Cornell's Ensemble X, Furious Band, Lisa Moore and So Percussion Quartet.
