Piano Pedagogy Forum is intended to be an arena for the expression of learned opinions as they focus on the issues that shape the field of Piano Pedagogy today and into the next millennium. Piano Pedagogy Forum creates a platform of free speech where the concerns and visions of the practitioners of the keyboard disciplines may be expressed free of external influence.
Piano Pedagogy Forum is a free publication available to the International Community wherever there is access to the internet. Piano Pedagogy Forum does not seek to compete with tabloids, trend publications, lists, bulletin boards or chat lines.
It is hoped that Piano Pedagogy Forum can be a focal point for the dissemination of current thought regarding the art of teaching and its related disciplines. It is also hoped that Piano Pedagogy Forum can be a repository for collected opinion and wisdom reflecting the continuing search for the purest truth of musical expression and communication. Perhaps the ideals of the classical world can be renewed and fostered in a new Athens.
Piano Pedagogy Forum is supported by the University of South Carolina School of Music and is published three times per year. It is not supported by advertisers or by donors, annual dues or other contributions. Each issue will provide forums for articles concerning the following areas of pianistic art and pedagogy: Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, Group Piano, Keyboard Education, Keyboard Technology and Collaborative Piano.
