Using contrasting meters, tempos and moods for each of the following exercises, write a 6-8 bar antecedant-consequent melodic phrase for piano which has its basis in the pitch collection (link requires password) indicated. Use chromatic tones and appropriate rhythmic devices to ornament the melody. Work for motivic unity. Be prepared to discuss how you arrived at each melody in class.
