Cello
During my time at USC, I studied cello under Brenda Leonard.
I began by taking a secondary cello class, and went on to take a
couple of semester of private lessons. Having a firm foundation
in the fundamentals of cello technique is essential for a strings
teacher (especially a native upper string--violin & viola--player)
working with cellist in ensembles. I taught a second year
cello class at String Project and also teach private lessons in cello.
I now consider it one of my primary instruments and just recently
purchased my own cello (pictured at right). I frequently perform
on cello with my brothers as the DePriest Trio and will eventually add
some video of my cello playing in the future.
