Percussion

During my time at USC, I had the privilege of studying percussion under Ryan Lewis.  The main purpose of this course was to prepare me to teach percussion, but it also helped me become more qualified in working with percussionist at all levels.  Because percussion is such a vast range of instruments and techniques, it is impossible for me to briefly summarize all that I learned from this class.  My course information and notes completely fill a 3" ring binder that I keep as a quick reference.  We learned about technical, pedagogical, historical, and stylistic aspects of percussion in this course from the most basic, to the most advanced areas of percussion.  I believe being qualified in percussion is necessary to being the best possible performer and the most versatile teacher.
